Dear SEIMA Members,
As we move through what is shaping up to be an exciting and productive year, I want to take a moment to reflect on our recent activities and look ahead to what’s on the horizon for SEIMA.
I recognize that communications have been relatively quiet since SustainTech, as we have drawn our focus towards planning for the year. In April, the Board of Directors came together to review and refresh our strategic plan. This important exercise ensured that we remain aligned with our mission of knowledge sharing and remain responsive to the evolving needs of our members, focused on advancing Saskatchewan’s environmental industry. The insights and direction established during these discussions will guide our work in the months and years ahead, including governance initiatives, programming, communications and board financials.
Following the strategic planning session, we finalized our 2026-27 programs plan, with a strong emphasis on delivering valuable, relevant, and engaging opportunities for our members. From technical sessions to networking events, we are committed to creating forums that foster innovation, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful connections across our sector. Check out our calendar of events, included in this newsletter.
In order to improve and sustain our programming, we are pleased to offer sponsorship opportunities for anyone interested in promoting their brand to support our goals. These partnerships are vital to the success of our initiatives and provide organizations with meaningful visibility and engagement within the environmental sector. Details of sponsorship packages are included with this issue of the newsletter.
This year also marks the implementation of SEIMA’s new membership structure. Designed to streamline interactions with the association, this updated framework is intended to provide members with clearer benefits and enhanced value. These include discounted registration for SEIMA events, exclusive access to member-only benefits and communications, and an improved overall experience when engaging with the association. We hope this new structure will better serve our members and support continued growth.
Finally, I can’t forget to highlight the continued success of our SustainTech Conference, held this past March. Once again, the event brought together industry leaders, practitioners, and innovators from across the province and beyond. We had record turnout, record sponsorship, and a continued high level of engagement, which are all testaments to the importance of this forum and the strength of our community.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the opportunities that lie before us. Saskatchewan’s environmental industry is dynamic and evolving, and SEIMA is proud to play a role in supporting its advancement.
Thank you for your continued support and participation in SEIMA. I look forward to connecting with many of you throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Brent Zelensky
