Brownfield Renewal Strategy Workshop

06 Feb 2019 2:14 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

A brownfield is an abandoned, vacant, derelict or underutilized property that may have actual or perceived contamination and has a potential for redevelopment. The Brownfield Renewal Strategy aims to facilitate brownfield redevelopment through the implementation of policy and programs that will alleviate and reduce the incremental barriers to brownfield development.

On February 13, we would like to hear your ideas and gather your feedback about the direction, options and ideas we are considering to include within future Brownfield Policy and Programs. We are facilitating an engagement event to advance key planning and development directions by considering questions like:

  • What are the key barriers to brownfield development?
  • What ideas should be included in a brownfield policy?
  • What sort of support would you like to see provided regarding brownfields?
  • What provisions should be included in a future brownfield interim use policy?
  • What incentives would drive brownfield redevelopment?

Please note that this event is meant to be for invited stakeholders or their representatives only, as it is technical in nature and not intended for the general public.

DATE & TIME: Wednesday, February 13, 2019

Workshop 1: 9:00AM – 11:00AM

Workshop 2: 1:30PM - 3:30PM
